Tour at the Knesset and Israel Museum

This week we began our tour at the Israeli Knesset. It started with an interesting video on it's history and how it is used. We were then given a tour around the building, and were shown where the Government holds it's debates and votes. At the end of the tour we were shown an amazing piece of artwork displaying the past, present and future of the Jewish nation.

After our tour at the Knesset we walked over to the Israel Museum. Our guide showed us a magnificent model of Jerusalem's old city in the times of the Beit Hamikdash. After that we were shown an exhibit on the Dead Sea scrolls found in the Qumran caves. We were shown a video on those who lived in Qumran and the political affairs in Jerusalem in the times after the destruction of the second Beit Hamikdash. We were then given the opportunity to see some ancient artefacts as well as some of the Dead Sea scrolls.
